01. What is Acupuncture?
According to TCM philosophy, our health is dependent on the body's motivation energy - known as Qi - moving in a balanced and smooth direction, through a series or meridians beneath the skin.
Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities - Yin and Yang - and when these become unbalanced, illness may result. By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy, the body's own healing response can be stimulated and helps restore its natural balance.
02. If I do not have any medical conditions, can I take Chinese herbs?
TCM has a long history of more than two thousand years, and has accumulated vast experience in Chinese herbal medication to enhance health, prevent illness and delay ageing.
However, as individual's body is unique and different, you would require an experienced TCM practitioner to give you advice before you start consuming Chinese medication on your own.
03. What is Child Massage Therapy?
Child therapeutic massage is another aspect of TCM, and has proven to be a viable option for treating a wide variety of common childhood conditions like common cold, sinus, constipation, cough, diarrhea, digestive difficulties, fever, abdominal pain, asthma and general health care.
It is based on massaging specific meridians and acu-points of a child's body to treat specific illnesses of an internal nature, and is capable of influencing a child¡¯s energetic flow in the same way that acupuncture works for adults. This therapy is suitable for children from birth to approximately twelve years of age.
04. How can hand or foot massage help to treat conditions?
Hand or foot massage is the TCM way of stimulating points on the hands and feet of patients. The diseases of internal organs could be reflected in the surface of the body through the passage ways of the meridian system. It is believed that by applying pressure on "reflex zones" found on the hands and feet, which are said to correspond to the internal organs of the body, thus, hand or foot massage can treat the diseases of the respective organs.
